Canada’s fertility rate has hit a record low.

Canadian women are now having on average 1.3 children, which is far below the level of 2.1 children per woman necessary to maintain our population. With all the economic, social and cultural disruptions, they’re not having enough babies.

Yet who can blame them?

It's a "problem" world wide (though probably a good thing for the planet.) Part is the cost of having a kid, part is sperm counts dropping. Part may be the idea of the world you'd be leaving to them. In any case, I'm glad I never had one!

yes, it runs through our entire species as humanity
i perceive that,
i think the women are intuitively saying, enough is enough. raise fewer brighter kids and lay off the drugs ))
there are a lot of male louts about not worth having kids with
i think it is precious to see what a little version of us looks like
i do have a son. he is the best thing that ever happened to me
and he is married and has a daughter, so i have a beautiful grand daughter as well
you are that precious one yourself
it is a privilege to actually have kids proper,
however, many just take the fallout for granted
after serving their own selfish pleasures
cigarettes after sex
in the heat of the moment, it would be wise to contemplate what consequences may arise,
just self-responsibility imho
so choosing to not have kids is also a responsible choice
only now, how does this all fit in with the old, 'go forth and multiply!'
