Most people never ask why they believe what they believe or why they do what they do. In a world filled with popularisms and traditions

What I believe was taught to me and it was shown as not in just talk but the walk. There really should be an afterlife. Like my mom always says:"I would rather live knowing there is a God to find out after death that there is not a God as opposed to living as if there is not a God to find out after death that there is." My Gpa lived as close to being Christ as anyone I have ever seen. He walked the walk and has left behind a legacy that even my children who were babies when he died knows him as if he is still alive and that proves all I need to know about a Heaven and Hell.
ah, yes... to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk
even if there may or may not be an afterlife, it makes sense to me that we can still be the best that we can be, here now, with every breath of life we take
"I would rather live knowing there is a God to find out after death that there is not a God as opposed to living as if there is not a God to find out after death that there is."
your mom, like mine, seems a very practical person. bless her heart
heaven and christ lives in all of us, if only we would let it
an heaven and hell, to me, are both here on earth for us to see, we are born into the battle of good and evil, and it is for us, given our free will, to choose
I suppose, it isn't a question of proofs and finding time for this. Possibly, people just don't always appreciate their ability and necessity to believe. As a result, they lose ther ability to trust and develope'rearrange the reality in accordance with not only their wishful thinking but also society?
as you say, finding time is difficult isn't it? i find in my own experience, many are too busy on the treadmill of life to stop and smell the roses or consider any consequences of their actions or their fate or understand true faith, it takes work this changes as we age and come to find wisdom the romantics called it "reflections in tranquility" having the luxury of time to reflect upon our human condition and choose wisely what will be our own experience ergo, man, with god's grace, self-made.. it's a kind of paradox, isn't it?
yes, we lose our ability to trust and develop, rearrange the reality in accordance with not only our wishful thinking i could not have said it better...
magic thinking is new age, in the old days were hope and faith, conviction and courage to follow through and persevere
whole epics like ulysses are built on those archetypal life journeys of fate and destiny thank you
