no, i have relatives in red deer alberta
they are hunters and sportsmen

there is a park in central alberta called "elk island park" with elk that looks similar to this.
they could be standing across a cattle gate with grate to keep them in the grazing areas
red deer is a ways south of that..

Where Walter's house is in Colorado he actually took a photo of a lot of elk in his open area behind the house.
