I wonder how we could call our country part of the "free world" if a basic right like unlimited access to information is limited (may it be propaganda or fake news - that's not up to a government to decide. That's what those rights are for)

yes rt is russian tv being banned in the west, especially europe. mind you it's probably like our CBC state driven propaganda... but it's information nevertheless, which we are overly subject to here in canada as well under CBC. it's all selective reporting.
i too wonder what is the use of censorship which gives us only half the story and not able to make up our own minds.. no, that's not freedom
the result is just confusion and inability to discern what is right
i always say, who's truth? your truth? my truth? their truth? which truth? what is 'the' truth?
it's a never ending story, as more information is added to any topic
