Just the one?
ETA - Oh, wait, 2014. I thought one book over 2013 sounded odd.

Thank you, koala of an indeterminate age!

Do you have any recommendations?

well, Dorothy Dunnett's Game of Kings is a fun ride, and one that holds up to numerous re-reads adding layer upon layer you will miss with previous readings. Being a well educated Brit I think it will be much easier for you to follow than it was for me!

Another one you might like is Scott Lynch's Gentleman Bastard series. The first one is The Lies of Locke Lamora. There was a long hiatus after the 2nd one was published, driving his fan base nuts (sound familiar?), but he is back to writing again and the 3rd one came out recently.

ooh I actually have the Lies of Locke Lamora. There weren't any sequels when I bought it so thanks for reminding me!

And lol no I can't think of another author that we both like that does the same thing

I'll try the other one too, thanks :)
