Hey all...

Just need to make a quick announcement:

I just found out that, after auditions held this afternoon, that my band Orkestar Bez Ime
are OFFICIALLY WINNERS OF THE 2011 MCKNIGHT FELLOWSHIP AWARD!!!!

We completely amazed and happy and and and...

YAAAAAAAY!!!!!

I am so very proud...

It means that the group receives $25,000 and national recognition...

However, tonite it means that we are celebrating heavily...

The different fellowships go through different organizations - I think the Southern only handled the choreography fellowships (Springboard is managing those temporarily, and fortunately McKnight is committed to making sure everyone gets paid!)
I know the composer fellowships go through the ACF and the photography fellowships go through the Walker. Not sure which category this is through, though.

Thank you, Spacebug, for the follow-up on the McKnight information - I'm sure that anyone trying to insinuate that McKnight does not pay their winners must not have current information...So thank you again...

And to clarify, we won the Grant for Musicianship, which is handled by MacPhail...and they've been amazingly forthright with their information, before and after the audition...

Yeah, excited is an understatement at this point...
