So, as soon as I got home from taking Lyra to the vet, my Father in Law drove in. He was early, but no big. I was wicked lucky with my in-laws. We got along from day one. My MIL is gone now - she had a massive stroke almost 20 years ago, and finally succumbed to it last spring. I miss her. Which I'm thinking is not too common - missing your ( Read more... )

Oh you're so lucky to have family like that! I'm jealous. Last night Matt innocently asked if my FMIL would like to meet one of the rats, and I could hear her hissing manically about her fear/extreme dislike of rats from down the hall.
I could tell he was sad--he's not too attached to MY babies (Seamus, Mac, or Sirius), but he loves his Jules and adores the girls. I know he wishes she could share in the joy they bring us (even on the nights we have MULTIPLE escapes...argh.)
She's a lonely woman... your FIL must be blessed, to have that great, manly, outdoorsy life and still appreciate animals like rats.

I think it also helps that he has a lot of respect for me, and REALLY doesn't want to piss me off ;) Hmmm.... thinking about it, hubby was commenting the other day that no one sane really wanted to piss me off, so I don't know if it really counts . . . LOL

I paid a visit to your website, and had to laugh at the picture of your parents and the 'bear'. Here's why:

Yes, that is my fiance Matt, looking like a moron, on our last road trip. We stopped at a tourist trap in N. VA on our way back from TN. You think the bears are related? lol

LOL People do the silliest things in public when they know that NO ONE they know will see - and then they let their picture get taken while they're doing it. Where's the logic in that? Gotta love 'em ;)

Ah, my website. Mostly ignored of late except for adding more and more rat pix. I was looking through the files the other day and realized that the page dedicated to the cats isn't even linked in! I need to do some work on it, but I'm in the middle of more lucrative projects.
