i hadn't watched grey's anatomy since the end of season 3. two years of not watching and barely even missing it, and then this storyline comes along and sucks me immediately right back in. alex/izzie is my 'ship. always has been, always will be. and one of my favorite things about their storyline here is that it is basically a mirror image of izzie & denny at the end of season 2. now, i really liked denny (the real denny), and those first two episodes of that three-part finale are two of my favorite episodes of the whole series, but i am really loving the role reversal now, and - to me - after four years of their on-again, off-again relationship, alex & izzie have truly earned this epicness. (but i'm glad alex doesn't go totally batshit and steal an organ. mostly he just cries and yells a lot. that's my boy.)
