Please read the whole post before asking questions. Thank you!

I've just gone through all the posts for this challenge and checked that all posts are correctly tagged, have titles in the subject line, are marked for spoilers and that list picspams include the shows/films/whatever that are in the post, and anything else that was needed.

So far there are 911 POSTS for Challenge 9. It's mindboggling. Some people have posted over 15 posts for this challenge alone.

Some of the picspams submitted don't quite follow the rules of the challenge. Picspams focused on favorite scenes in a movie or favorite scenes in an episode do not fit the challenge. They are not "scene picspams," they are "movie picspams" (which we've already done) or "episode picspams" (which is an upcoming challenge). "Scene" picspams should focus on one sequence. If you've posted a picspam before this mod post, you're fine but I don't want to see any more picspams like this posted this month. This is the last picspam like this that will be allowed.

Because of the massive number of posts, it is extremely possible that the mods will miss something. It would be extremely helpful if you would go back and look at your posts to make sure we've tagged your post. Make sure we've spelled your username tag correctly.

The wrap-up post for this challenge is going to take a very long time to put together. It's fastest for us to copy and paste the title from the subject line. Because of this, it is very important that all posts have titles in the subject line preferrably including the name of the source material/fandom. If your title doesn't include the name of the fandom already, it's easy to add it to the end of the title in parentheses like so: Bathroom Scenes (Veronica Mars). If your picspam includes several fandoms, do not include them in the subject line. Please don't put the challenge number in the subject line. It's unnecessary. :) I've left comments on several posts nicely asking for titles in the subject line "if you get a chance" but come April 30th I'll probably be grumpy at you if you haven't added a title after receiving the comment. ;)

We would like to thank all of you who have been warning for spoilers in your posts and thank you to those who corrected spoilers in their posts. It's a big community and people are bound to get spoiled if people are irresponsible with spoilers. Please remember that character death or other major character events from shows that have finished airing are still considered spoilers. Not everyone has watched the same things you have. It might seem like common knowledge to you but it could potentially ruin someone's first-time experience of a major moment. To quote what anna_bo_banna commented to someone in our capslock mod post: i would say the questions to ask yourself are: was this scene a big deal within the fandom? was it something that was a long time coming and you were dying to see happen (or, on the flip side, something tragic that you never wanted to see happen)? was it something that changed the tone or direction of the show or episode or relationship? i think if you can answer "yes" to any of these questions, it probably constitutes a spoiler. And that is exactly right.

All posts should include spoiler warnings if necessary. Teaser images should not contain spoilery images. Picspam titles or any other text including quotes should exclude anything that gives away too much. The goal is to be as vague as possible in a way that will protect people from spoilers but that will be recognizable to people who are familiar with the subject of the picspam. Including episode numbers for tv shows is helpful. We've had a lot of picspams from season four of Supernatural which have been the source of a majority of the complaints we've received. If you are posting about shows that are currently airing, that recently aired finales, or are not on DVD yet be very careful with your posts. When your post is a list including a number of fandoms please include the a list of the fandoms somewhere so people can look at your picspam without being worried about spoilers. This is especially important if your picspam is something like "my favorite character death scenes."

I've noticed that there have been some posts lately with large teaser images. Please make sure your teaser images are appropriately sized. If they are too wide, they will stretch the page and the friends pages of the people watching the community. If you see a teaser image that you think is too large, feel free to (nicely) ask the person to make the image smaller. We are revising the rules of the community and will determine a teaser image size limit soon.

The general tags (tv, actress, film, etc.) are now deleted. They're basically useless and we have way too many members to have more specific tags. It just doesn't work. If we reach the limit, we'll find some other way to deal with the tagging system. But until then all you need is the challenge tag and your username tag.

We're a rapidly growing community. Never in a million years did we think there would be 2000+ members of this community. Because of this, the rules we set up when we started are loose. We will be editing the userinfo, the rules, and will probably create a FAQ post as soon as we get our shit together. Until then, please be patient as we attempt to deal with the growing pains.

If you have any concerns with any posts, please feel free to e-mail us at picspammy@gmail.com .
