Reasons Why Ben Barnes is Awesome
So, you may remember when I posted about Hunter Parrish, but Ben Barnes? I've adored him for much longer. If I may tell you the story, I've always actually loved the character of CASPIAN first, so I was dying to find out who played him.
What made me adore that character was this one dream of him where he had long brown hair and was a bit older and he was saving me from this forest. I deleted the little script I made and put on ff.net because... really, ew. Crappy Mary-Sue was crappy. (And VERY VERY much like what Stephenie Meyer encountered with how she created her books. =P)
But yes. You can see my absolute surprise when I got THAT EXACT THING when Ben Barnes was picked. The second he was on Narniaweb, I looked him up and had only one picture to depend on when it came to him. (He introduced me to Stardust, by the way.)
I was the obsessive fangirl before the rest of them. Not really something to be proud of, but meh. It's Ben Barnes, does it matter? xD
Anyways, on to the reasons!
1. He's adorable
He can smile and talk and just do anything and it'll come out adorable. He's just that kind of a guy, and that helps him make him awesome.
2. He treats his costars like family
Yes, that one hurts a little bit to look at...
3. He and William are home-boys
They're usually seen chilling together at interviews. They act like brothers too.
I can't remember the exact interview, but there was one where they were telling us how Andrew tried to get Ben and William to compete against each other so they can get more into character. He played a mean trick on them concerning their swords.
"William, let me see your sword. Well, Ben's is much bigger isn't it?"
And then Ben and William would compete about their "swords". William even said it was the girth that counted.
And then Cornell (Glenstorm) would come in with a sword that went over their heads and the case was closed.
I find that hilarious. How the two can joke and yet act like real buds. xD
4. He's hilarious
Click to viewThere was also the Jay Leno interview, but it doesn't seem to be anywhere anymore. THAT one was quite funny and it showed his serious accent skills.
I find that a funny guy has a sense of humour and someone with a sense of humour is always the best.
4. He's into musicals and fantasy
He's stated himself that he likes musicals and he's performed on stage as well in England. Just because he's been in Hyrise doesn't mean he doesn't like singing anymore (he does so in Easy Virtue, no?).
And then there's the fact that he mimicked his accent in Prince Caspian after Inigo Montoya from Princess Bride. The fact that he HAS the DVD isn't enough, but he used one of the charcaters as inspiration.
He's also read the Narnia books and always liked them since he was a kid.
There you go, lover of music and musicals and a lover of fantasy. Dream boy to ME! <3
5. He's an amazing actor
Ever since Prince Caspian, he's been given a large variety of roles. Stardust and Bigga than Ben came before Narnia, I know. Now he's played with Colin Firth twice, in Dorian Gray and Easy Virtue, which is just awesome because we all know how wonderful Colin is! <33
6. He's incredibly humble
I like how he's aware that Caspian isn't this sort of big hero and he's very humble towards this attention he doesn't think he deserves. Don't ask me if he does or doesn't, I'm biased, but you can't deny that he's at least humble and decent enough to know that the press towards him is more than needed. You can really appreciate someone like that. ^_^
7. HYRISE
Lulz, the pictures that I found were too damn small. =P
Either way, he's embarassed about this. As you can see in the Jimmy Kimmel interview, he really wishes he could crawl into a hole. He doesn't even wanna remember it.
It was that thing that obviously made him money when he was younger.
He's the one who hits the high notes, by the way. I'm putting this up because we can do that as a married couple (xD), and we all have our embarassing moments in life. Ben has come from this to... well... a big actor. And not one who's cast in crappy teen movies either.
At the same time, I've seen some people make fun of boybands and only listen to this song because it's Ben. I mean, really he's gorgeous.
Which brings us to our final reason...
8. He's absolutely stunning
Yes, that one was in my Gap. It was quite fantastic for me.
This one's self-explanatory. XD
As you can tell, I love me some certain sexy boys.
