CHALLENGE 16 NON-FANDOM
aesthetic : visual merchandising in a picspam
In following the non-fandom theme of this month, I decided to do the next best thing: stores. Not specific stores, but the general idea that shopping should be an immersive experience and stores should do all they can to not look like a flea market. I work in retail, have worked in retail, did an internship at Anthropologie doing Christmas displays, and currently work at Old Navy doing visuals. I have a love of succinct and effect displays that draw the customer in and engage them in their shopping experience. So, this picspam celebrates when visual merchandising works. These are all shops and shop fronts, small displays and large, that just capture my imagination. I know whoever created the displays really put thought into what they wanted. I will try to keep my commentary out of it, because I think a lot of these speak for themselves.
i didn't work on these specific windows, but at my intership,
this is what we worked on: making a million snowballs!
This is
Lulamae, a "pop-up" store made entirely out of recyclable cardboard!
The following were all done by one design firm in Paris,
beluga. They specialize in store windows, mostly for the French department store, Galeries Lafayette. they do amazing work, and I could have made an entire picspam with just their awesome.
