Something Different: Say Anything

Oct 18, 2009 21:31

What can I say about Say Anything? Even though this movie was released 20 years ago, it's still pretty new to me. I watched this movie for the first time earlier this year but one time was all it took for me to fall in love with it. Before seeing it, the movie had always been in the back of my mind. I was definitely aware of it (and that famous ( Read more... )

This is a gorgeous picspam, thank you for sharing it.

I grew up on John Hughes movies and this reminds me so much of all the things I loved about his movies. That scene in the car is still one of the sweetest most tender love scenes I've seen in a film.

Thank you for this. :)

Yeah, after John Hughes died I felt like I needed to watch & rewatch all the classic movies from the 80s like The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, etc.. and because I had never seen this movie before, I knew now was the time. And I definitely agree with you, the car scene was great. It is probably my favorite scene from the whole movie.

I'm so glad you liked it :) Thank you for the comment!

my username may or may not have been inspired by my thirteen-year old self's need to pay homage to Lloyd.

Hahah that's great. I've definitely seen your username around ONTD but never put two and two together. Now it'll be all I can think of! :)

Oh how I love this film and this picspam. I was never really in to the 80's films (I never really grew up with them) but this one stuck with me.

There are so many great moments- the picture Llyod "takes" with Diane at grad, the note he gives her after their first time, the four or so bows he takes after their date, the ending lines and my personal fave- the answering machine message he gives her. "And one more thing - about the letter. Nuke it. Flame it. Destroy it. - It hurts me to know it's out there. Later."

Yeah, after watching and re-watching the popular 80's films.. this and The Breakfast Club are at the top of my list.

Oh man, the picture Lloyd "takes" with Diane at grad was the first thing to make me laugh & it was what stopped me from fast forwarding through the rest of the scenes. I know I've done something like that before, haha.

Thank you so much for the comment! I'm glad you liked it :D

SQUEEEEE. I did a picspam at the beginning of the year of the best teen movie characters and Lloyd made #3. He's just so classic and gentleman-like, and basically, if I didn't have class in the morning I'd rewatch Say Anything right now. Great job!
