My father called me from the UK to let me know “everyone is in a panic here.” I told him I’d heard that many supermarkets in Italy had been overrun and emptied, thanks to the growing coronavirus panic

Spoke to a friend on Saturday who'd done a supermarket order just of Lemsip and chicken soup! Plus Kensington council has spent £37K on hand-sanitiser. I think British people just love a crisis so they can say how they were prepared for the crisis.

The panic might turn out to be more damaging than the illness itself - especially for the poor.

Was in a massive Boots in Westfield earlier, and everything seemed pretty chill, don't think they were even out of sanitiser. Curious to see if the Australian toilet roll panic makes it over here.
