My husband really likes Rebus. I've read the first in the series but I didn't go any further for some reason.

I felt the same when I first read him, years ago; it was definitely the interview with Rankin that inspired me to read further.

I'm pretty sure that I saw a documentary about him once and it really brought home how well he uses Edinburgh in his books.
