I have a total soft spot for all the eighties love songs you can think of. Like Heart's "All I wanna Do Is Make Love To You", Richard Marx, Lionel Richies' "Hello", Chicago's "Hard For Me To Say I'm Sorry", Allannah Myles' "Black Velvet", ... Oh God, I could go on and on. I'm such a girl.

Swing Out Sister, T'Pau. "Running With the Night" by Lionel Richie. Slow jammy groups like Climaxxx! Or Whistle! Totally seconding the 5th Dimension. "Holding Back the Years" by Simply Red (although let's be honest, Simply Red is pretty freaking terrible).

going through the music i realize that i will have to make a "smoove 80s" playlist, b/c much of the r & b stuff doesn't go eith the folk and white boy soul. DeBarge's all this love and Al B. Sure!'s nite and day convinced me of this.

and i really LOVE holding back the years. i play it a lot! even though simply red is simply terrible.
