I know you're feeling so well. It's just an Asian thing, I think.

I once dated a girl that was taking French. Three years into it, she was reading Camus and Sartre in the original French. I know a guy who's taken four years of Latin, and could read the Aenid in the original Latin. I took Japanese for (a partially redundant) five years, and I can't even read children's manga.

It just fucking sucks, and being reminded of it is awful.
