(I rank it about on the level of Angels&Demons/DaVinci Code? As far as "thought required to parse this book" goes, anyway.)
I feel like I should give Twilight a proper try anyway, though. Cause it feels like everyone has read it.

I bought it for a specific purpose: so that, during the Five Cities trip, I would have something to read that I could pick up and put down easily, that I didn't have to think about, and that I could enjoy without effort.
It accomplished those purposes admirably. It's a kid book. Not to say I dont' expect more out of kids' books - I expect DWJ out of kids' books, :P . It was limited in mentality in that Bella thought she was being Noble and Mature, and everyone else thoguht Bella was being Noble and Mature, and - well, okay. Sure, Bella. You were being Noble and Mature. Sure. Fine. I totally believe you.
But will you please shut up about the Edward thing?
re: Sweeney Todd
(grins) I have been following Sweeney Todd for agesWhen my dad was young and visiting a friend of his, said friend sat him down and said, "listen to this." and played the thing for him. (on a record player, :D). And - I dont' even know how long ago, but my dad sat me down and played the opening Ballad of Sweeney Todd. A couple years later ( ... )

BSG is awesome! And The X-Files! And - and - and --- (I bet you'd like Dark Angel, too, which I saw the pilot of recently and fell in love with.) Also, Millennium and Sliders (which turned WTF in season 3ish) and Quantum Leap and I'm sure I can think of others given some time.

Her descriptions of him are the purplest things of all. He's a glittering, marble statue of Adonis!

I was kind of ehn about Kowalsky, so it was kind of a "that's the way the money goes" episode.
Also, what the hell is it about the writing in the show that is so easy to imitate? Not that I'm saying I'd fic, but that it wouldn't be hard to did I suddenly decide to try. (Maybe a drabble.)
(grins) One at a time. I'll get to 'em all eventually.

Hee hee. Every fuckin second sentence was "his skin glittered like snow" or "he looked at me with those amazing eyes and I fell in love all over again" or "he smelled like alabaster and I forgot to breathe" and it's kind of hurting to type those, but seriously.
