Systems part 1: character stats

This article is a long time coming, and mainly focusses on the White Wolf d10 system for their RPGs.  However, I really want to use it as a framework to express my frustrations with systems I've played.

I would argue strongly that Alertness vs Investigation is Spot vs Search. Investigation does carry a bit more, like intretation of the scene, but I would look at is as the non-academic, non-social side of research. Which still leaves a fair bit.
