Free Library of Philadelphia Faces Closure.

Please tell me this is some kind of stunt.

Looks like it isn't just the libraries.

Fascinating. They really want this measure passed. I'd like more information on what led to this situation.

I think something smells.

Has someone forgotten to do something vital, like applying for the money? It all seems very odd.

And forgive me, but I was totally sidetracked and childishly amused by the idea of a Mayor Nutter *g*

That's what I'm wondering. Or if they'll be saved just in the nick of time and then pass a measure closing a few branches or limiting hours and everyone will go along with it because the alternative is closing. Or something. I dunno. But it is tres weird. The whole city seems to be really pushing the state to pass this measure. They're talking about cutting down on garbage pickup, too.
