THOSE godwins, hee. i did consider mentioning that evie's grandpa and all her mom's aunts and uncles first appeared in my nanonovel, but i didn't want to scare people away from the fic. (possibly the format was more of a turn-off, i don't know. or the fact that it's not really a self-contained story. >.< ) grandpa is gabriel godwin, the one who moved to chicago. and his wife evelyn, after whom evie is named, was a cattle baron's daughter from wyoming. her dad owned something like 500k acres of ranchland and taught her how to drive when she was fifteen, because he thought she should know how ( ... )

neat, and textury, and like peeking in someone's window as you walk past, or overhearing part of a phone call - a snapshot from a wider story, that's really interesting!

it is actually exactly like that. :D i mean, there are ten godwin kids, never mind their parents and spice and kids and grandkids. and i wanted it to be a snapshot story. i'm glad you liked. :D
