The 6th Annual 'A Picture is Worth a 1000 Words' Challenge: Roll Them Bones
So, It's Like This...
The challenge, for those who don't know, goes as follows: each participant is assigned a photograph that will serve as the inspiration for a story (how you define "inspiration" is up to you). The catch is that each story must be exactly one thousand words in length, no more, no less - and trust me, it's not as easy as it sounds!
Everyone gets one photograph for one story. It's called a challenge for a reason, so you may need to get creative, but remember: the photograph itself need only serve as your inspiration, not necessarily a literal part of the story.
If the muse strikes, you may write more than one story based on your photograph, but each must be a completely separate story of 1000 words. Your entry/entries can be part of series only only if each story can stand on its own.
If you have written at least one story for your first picture, you may request a second photo, but again, each photograph should equal at least one free-standing story of exactly 1000 words.
Any fandom, pairing, rating or genre (including real person and original fic) is welcome!
Stories won't be due until February 28, 2008, which means two full months to write!
The Twist
Every year I try to add a twist to give some variety to the challenge. This year, the theme is Roll Them Bones, and your assignments are in the hands of fate!
For each participant, I'll roll a die, and your photograph will be based on in some way to whatever random number comes up!

Comment here no later than Sunday, December 30, 2007 (or whenever I wake up the next morning). I will post picture assignments here around January 1, 2008, so you'll probably want to friend the community. After that, it's up to you!
