While doing some insulating in my house, I fell off the ladder. I was actually quite impressed - it was the classic movie-doofus kind of thing. I over-reached my balance, the ladder skidded to the side, and down I went - bouncing off my couch with half my body

I agree with angrydave, and I'd even say that not only you shouldn't kill yourself before holidays, but you shouldn't do it either during holidays or after them! :) Anyways, it's good that you didn't hurt yourself too much. Good luck with the healing of the few injuries you got!
