shopping for food

The fridge was looking empty this morning, so we went to the allotment to do a bit of “shopping”.

I've never seen such a dark sunflower before.

We sowed a variety pack of seeds so they'll be coming up all different colours, hopefully. But by the size of it I expected that one to be a Russian Giant, which would've been your basic yellow sunflower.

Mmm broad beans! And of course as usual, *drool* to all the described dishes. Although the mixing of the words "courgette" and "tastiest" makes a bit of a *insert that fancy word for something untrue because I can't remember it* in my book :-/ I've never had a courgette in any dish cooked any way that didn't taste like cotton wool to me.

Broad beans all gone now. But the French beans and runner beans are looking promising.

The courgette fritters really were extremely tasty. A mixture of flour, egg, grated pre-boiled potato, grated courgettes, and grated parmesan. Divided into 3-inch rounds, and fried in butter. Served with a rocket salad dressed with walnut oil and balsamic vinegar. A LOVELY meal. :D
