More ketchup

A letter from leenielou dropped onto the doormat today, inadvertently guilting me into updating my journal. I haven't posted for a while, because I haven't written any more of my story; I'm still adjusting to the new teaching routine, and still having difficulty staying asleep at night. It's not a good way to be. I haven't used my sewing machine since ( Read more... )

If you'd waited another two weeks you'd have got a letter from me too.

I know, I should send you one anyway.

Thank you for catching up.

You can expect another update in four weeks, then. ;-)

On re-reading, my first reply didn't actually make sense. :-D I was trying to say that if it takes me being off-line for four weeks (ie. two plus two) to prompt you to write me a letter then that's what I'll do. But looking at it, it's as though you'd said "I would've written to you after two weeks," and I'd replied "well fine, then -- I'll wait four weeks instead!"

I hope you took the (intended) nicer meaning, rather than the weird insult. :-)

I did, in fact, understand exactly what you meant :D :p

Actually, I think you're using this thing the way I thought it was meant to be used, as a diary rather than a chat room.

Love to read your entries. :) Stay well.

I HATE chat-room-style journals. No chance of this turning into one of them, I promise you.

I think that means you mysically acquired over 2 grand... I have a strong suspicion that you saved more than post-taxed pay minus rent... o_O I'm impressed! Mystic money in the bank's always cool!

If you've got a huge build-up of creative projects in your mind blocking the writing stream, create!!!! Make, sew, design, etc! Make yourself a deal that you'll do equal hours writing and creativating... But if you're blocking your creative juices, they can't flow into your writing!

Don't abandon us totally!!!!! But if you're stronger, happier and healthier spending less time online, then how could we not support that?

We haven't paid any tax yet for 2004/2005. That comes (or, rather, goes) in January -- the unpleasant lump sum removal that occurs with self-employment. On the plus side, we won't be paying very much tax, due to earnings being so miserable; the tax threshold is set much higher in the Isle of Man than it is in the UK (tax-free earnings up to £8,000).

I can't juggle creative things. I get wholly absorbed by one project and work obsessively on it until it's finished -- that is, if it's something easy like a quilt, or a batch of jam, or an item of clothing, etc. Clearly I'm not so diligent with the writing. And that's mostly down to lack of confidence. But I can't let myself get distracted by other projects. I can't.

I was wondering if it'd get to you yesterday :D Post always seems to go/come so fast to/from you.

Ditto on the chat room journals, as you know. I've been spending more time offline as well, obviously not to your extreme ;-)

Crap about the housing prices. Don't buy one of those all samey houses - soul sucking!! Other than that I have no suggestions or solutions. It' 6 am :D

Is 6.00am not a conducive time for house-buying ideas? :-D

Not for me, no.

In fact, the whole day's been a testament to not thinking at all.
