Picture Post 021: Official Disneyland...!

Jul 15, 2006 10:12

WHOA WHOA WAIT.

"Can it be? Is Chris really posting the Disneyland pictures he's talked so much about that are three months belated and have more expectation weighted upon them than the arrival of my new stereo?"

Yes. It's taken me a while, but I've finally found time to edit these pictures and to ultimately post them. A disclaimer, though: A lot of these pictures may not be amazing, but just ones that I'm posting because they've got good meaning and intention. This was three months ago--and in that time I've learnt so much more about photography, so my techniques are a little rusty in this post, but hey, I'm all for posting these pictures and that's exactly what I'm doing.

All of these pictures were taken on Saturday, April 8th, 2006 at either Disneyland or California Adventure on my school's band trip. This entry is also a follow-up to the first part of this trip ( P.P. 019); check that one out too if you haven't already! ...Hang on tight, you're in for one exciting ride!

Enjoy!

It was a chipper yet cool morning down in Disneyland. We all awaited the shuttle that would take us to the actual park. The anticipation was killing us.

Once we got there we saw a few cool sights.

I hung out with these fellows most of the day--we were there for sixteen hours!

Hit up Adventure Land.

Inside that part of the park, this Dixieland band was playing, they were pretty good!

This ride was awesome.

Same with this one.

GOOFY!
(Told you we'd take a picture with him, Lena-bug!)

Storybook Land... eh, not the coolest part of the park, but hey!

This is a humongous ball that you can try and push in either direction to get it spinning. You can see the effort being put forth.

Inside Innovations.

Matt's just too cool.

This is the view from one of the high points in the park. (Wallpaper available!)

Crowds, lol.

It was pretty majestic.

Here we have two separate saxophone quartets. The high schoolers are our guys, and the fire fighters are Disneyland's quartet.

And here are the letters.

Traveling band.

The day shot of the park.

This is the Taikster, soaking up the glory of being in California Adventure...!

Aww, Paula and me.

Hmm?

The Maliboomer... Fiona!

Laura was pretty serious in wanting to get on the ride.

A good idea to show some anger, but bad execution.

Out of the shade, back into the blinding sunlight.

Man, I was getting hungry!

But instead we got some Souvenirs... 66.

Part of the Grizzly Mountain, or whatever.

With everyone else's dead expressions, I was still thinking "YEAAH DISNEYLAAAAND!"

Some stunna-shades close-ups.

Stopped for some ice cream.

And Derek twice in a row, again...

Inside some place at the Hollywood part of California Adventure; I swear there's so much to do in that amusement park!

Goofy changed outfits and surprised us once again!

It goes on and on, I swear.

The Hollywood Tower Hotel, one of my FAVORITE rides! (Wallpaper available!)

Yeah!!! Fiona and me rockin' it.

This one deserves another "Aww."

Scenic plants... I guess?

By the afternoon we were all now at a presentation for the results of the performance the night before.

The teachers gladly accepted their awards.

But when we found out that we got 1ST PLACE in the whole competition, we jumped for joy!

These performing artists gave quite a show...

...So much it made Jeff bust out some moves!

Then, Lucas got an award for best solo in the entire competition! Even got recognition from Micky and Minnie themselves... heh.

Charlie came running down with our trophie, hard-earned and very deserving.

Yeaaah!

Lucas with his award.

Jessica and Tabitha, with Ms. Hurst--our band teacher--in the center.

Pretty sweet, huh?

Jordan and Joey were sure casual about it.

Back to the Hollywood Tower! (Wallpaper available!)

Now the sun was setting, so the tint was certainly different.

Here's the first of three on-ride photo screen caps, this one on the Hollywood Tower.
(Laura, Paula, Derek, me, and Lucas; pretty much my group for the rest of the evening.)

Lucas is hilarious, isn't he?

Yep, that's them.

See, I'm a little more normal.

Stunna-shades!

Derek had an urge to climb something.

Ah yes, California Adventure at night.

We were just a little wet from riding the Grizzly Rapids ride three times in a row.

On-ride photo from California Screamin'!

...Speak of the devil:

Sharay and me, whilst waiting in line for Space Mountain.

Derek was meditating on all that's happened in life, a ponderous situation.

Now seriously, I'm the only cool one riding the ride like it should be ride, honestly!

But it doesn't matter, I got Laura to growl at me. Mission accomplished.

Teacups at night.

This next picture unleashes a series of frightening images from one of the fruitiest rides ever built... (though it looks cool outside!) you'll see.

(I must of had Dominic's favorite "neutral" setting turned on!)

lol a marching band.

Check out that flute playing.

To wrap things up, me, Paula, and Laura went into this one souvenir store.
Thankfully they didn't make me try anything on!

This guy is the coolest: right about five minutes before midnight we walked past this guy busting out some Disney classics with much improvisation; I even caught it on video! (See the clip here.)

Here's a re-cap of those wallpapers in case you missed one. All of them are in 1024x768 size. If you need a different size, just ask. Enjoy!

And that's it, folks! I hope you've enjoyed this epic escapade--I know I sure did! Feedback is welcome and greatly appreciated, see you next time.
