Staying up all night and sometimes even all day wasn't something new to Helen Magnus. Especially when there was jet lag involved. Flying from Washington to London was never easy on the internal body clock. Except it was going to be even more brutal with the knowledge of exactly what was awaiting her when she landed. The UK Sanctuary was still getting on it's feet with the rest of the Network after the massive attack from the Cabal ( ... )

Sometime the next morning... pi_sparrow March 22 2010, 04:19:40 UTC
Sally was awakened by the bright glare of midmorning sunlight through her kitchen window. She lifted her head with a groan, she'd fallen asleep at her kitchen table waiting for the expresso to brew. Again.

The clock on the wall read 8:46, the white face seeming to watch her accusingly, seeming to demand that it wasn't too late to head back to an actual bed, and that she should do so.

"I've still got a backlog to sort through", Sally hissed at the clock, pouring herself half a mug of milk and putting it in the microwave to heat. Bloody hell, she was back to personifying appliances. Maybe she really should get back to bed ( ... )

Helen looked up from her work, after sleeping a few hours of course, to find an e-mail waiting for her. Declan had sent her a link of footage of the blackout that had happened the night before. She was interested in what was happening, so he thought it was best. She clicked the link and watched as the entire few blocks went pitch black. Following that were a few green lights that appeared with no pattern in various places. Her eyebrows perked up.

She grabbed her things after convincing Declan to come with her. He was a Head of House. He would need to be aware of these things happening around him. The two set out within the half hour to the blocks that were affected. They were easily passed off as inspectors. It was one of the many perks of the governments of the world pretending they didn't exist. Free passage to almost anywhere without any delays.

Sally stepped off the bus, checking the address she'd scribbled down on a post it, without need. The sheer number of police cars parked out from the council building and adjoining alley sort of gave it away ( ... )
