The only other thing I can think of is to volunteer somewhere. Then at least you can get a good reference that can talk about how good of a worker you are.
it really doesn't help how the economy's not doing so well, huh? you could try doing your own business, like yard-work or dog-grooming, i guess....
where i live, like 90% of the seniors that graduated this year decided to stay at home for another two years for community college. add that to the underclassmen who can work and the older generation who can't get those higher-up jobs, and we got a pretty hopeless situation as well.
so we're about in the same boat, yes. so i'm really rooting for you~.
I would do what mandy_nyar suggested: do volunteer work. It doesn't pay, but it does give you work experience. I did it to for awhile, when I was between studies.

I know I had a tough time being hired till I revamped my resume and updated my references to good people.
