Movies released in 2009, roughly based on a scale of how satisfied I felt after watching it:

1. Brothers Bloom - I saw this three times in the theatre. And I saw something new every time.
2. Inglourious Basterds - tarantino. pitt. killing nazis. nuff said.

Goats was funny, but not a movie I'd take my Girlfriend too. She didn't like the American Pie movies either, and that kind of humor doesn't entertain her at all.

I saw Ponyo and The Hurt Locker. Both of them were good but I don't understand why some people went SOOOOO gaga over Locker. I liked it wasn't all that, although it did have its moments and is very topical.

Ponyo is one of those movies one should see twice. One of those times should be under the influence of an illegal substance...Ponyo, Ponyo, little fishy in the sea -She's a little girl with a round tummy...

Goats and American Pie? Wow, I wouldn't put those in the same category at ALL.

I would.

I put it with the American Pie movies, Office Space, Revenge of the Nerds, Superbad, Napoleon Dynamite, Vacation, RV -that sort of silly sophomoric stuff. I enjoy it mostly, but the GF really doesn't much at all so I try to watch them alone or with someone else who enjoys that kind of movie.

I'm not a film person with any experience or anything other than watching them and drawing my own conclusions. It's just that I group that kind of thing together in my head . I'd also group it with TV shows like The Office, 2-1/2 men, Three's Company, and My Name is Earl.

Office Space, Revenge of the Nerds and The Office have a bit of sophomoric humor, but they have a redeeming underlying intellectual quality to them. American Pie... doesnt. Superbad and Napoleon kind of do, havent seen the others. I dont think Goats qualifies as sophomoric in the first place.

My girlfriend went to school with, and hung out with, Nina Paley -the person behind Sita back in the day.

I thought the movie was awesome too.
