My long weekend

Here we are on Memorial Day - I know people celebrate here in the US but this is really a holiday for fallen soldiers. Kind of solemn. So thinking on that. It is the holiday for people who have died in service. A time to remember them. I don't know anyone who has died in service but we have had a lot of wars and people have died for this country.

I have been watching Mare of Easttown, too, express from the US. Have recorded the last episode, but not watched it yet. Agree that it is a great show, and Kate Winslet is brilliant.

It is sad about Naomi Osaka. As an introvert myself, I know how hard it is to speak publicly - and this was just to a group of parents at my son's choir when I was President presenting the end of financial year report. I cannot even imagine how hard it is for Naomi, especially when being bombarded with questions. A shame that there was not a more sensitive approach taken and not that she was forced to withdraw. Agreed that the tournament - and tennis in general - loses.

I really loved Mare of Easttown - such a good show. I could really relate to it having grown up on the east coast USA. It was just very authentic. Really good. I will be curious to see what you think of the last episode.

It is really a shame about Osaka and I think the tennis establishment could have done better for sure. We all lose there.

Caught up with the last episode towards the end of last week - I always record my programs as it is just too hard to watch them real time. Certainly not what I was expecting as to the killer, and definitely not easy for Mare and her friendship with the mother, though it looks as that is on the mend. Liked how Mare was gradually facing up to her son's suicide. Overall a very good series.
