I know, not that the Valar have anything to do with anything *wink*. But I love the little disagreement on the point too. Very fun to write and imagine it.

I think this has happened before with history - all depends on how you read it, lol. It's a good explanation but leaves room for a little bit of magic too, real or imagined. Liked this, Jane.

I really had fun with this story and Fingolfin's need to have this rational explanation for what happened all the while the Valar are playing a role and there is magic afoot too. I also have always loved that moment in Tolkien at their arrival with all that converging at once.
