Dear Livejournal,

When am I going to learn to not buy shoes at the Salvation Army? I've been discreetly trying to hide crumbling leather dust on my black tights all day. It looks like my feet have dandruff. GROSS.

This week I watched an incredible documentary called The Natural History of the Chicken. I had no idea chickens had such strong ( Read more... )

That H. Allen Smith book looks pretty cool, even if it's not all about interpersonal relationships with chickens.

Looking on Netflix, there are a bunch of 2 stars reviews complaining about how this documentary wasn't scientific enough and too anecdotal. SHUT UP NERDS. That's the only kind of documentary I love.

God I love indignant reviews on Netflix. Except the ones that say "WHEN'S THIS GONNA BE ON INSTANT????" Those ones are bogus.

I guess a lot of people took that title super literally. I was glad it was more lifestyle oriented and not about chicken digestive systems or something, but apparently I'm in the minority!

Oh my god, I MUST see that documentary. It sounds so bizarre. I have a friend whose grandma has pet chickens, and she just keeps them in a boring old barn. WHAT A WASTE.

There's a house I like to walk past all the time because they have three chickens in a little shed in the backyard, and as much as I enjoy spying on the chickens (yes, I am a chicken stalker) now I wish they lived in the house, just for the joy of seeing chickens living in a house.

This documentary is so weird! And I didn't even get into the yuppie dude who used Sun Tzu's THE ART OF WAR to inspire his feud with a neighbor raising roosters for cock fighting.

Wow!! The glamor of this post is astonishing. And I really love chickens, by the way. <3

Chickens as pets, socialites, and Karl Lagerfeld's library. Yes, TOTAL GLAMOR! Not to sound conceited but when I finished writing this I felt really blessed to be living this kind of life.
