SN - The good of the many vs. good of the few

Possible spoilers below if you haven't watched Season 5 yet.

Great points you make here and I wholeheartedly agree. Some people have argued that this propensity for Dean to put himself over others, ultimately humanity, is destructive, but I see it as his basic nature to save people, the credo that his family lives by is "saving people, hunting things", even the order is telling of Dean's preferred approach. It's what I LOVE about him. The only time he almost faltered was when he thought that no one cared, specifically Sam. In that darkest of darkest hours, Dean wondered if his belief of the many over the one was worth it. It took Sam's belief in him to finally break him out of it and it's also what makes them intertwined psychologically. It makes them vulnerable, but it also makes them stronger.
