This is the place where I find peace (FRFF08)

I think I feel sufficiently rejuvenated, so it's time to sit down and make my FR08 report before all of the details have fled my head.

Lovely recap. I too felt shortchanged a bit, though I was around to say goodbye to a bunch of folks. But it felt like we had to bolt so early. Alas.

Time to plan for next year! :)

Thanks! 'Course I keep thinking about things I should have mentioned but I guess this is long enough already :-)

BTW THANK YOU for posting the videos from Shantytowne. It helps with the separation anxiety :-)

Let the planning begin!

I love living vicariously through other people's adventures! :) I think I would've given up pretty quickly, myself -- I am not much of a rain and mud person and I don't do camping well (unless I have, like, a comfy cot and a pillow and a way to make good coffee, and I don't mean the campfire kind that's all full of grounds). The music sounds great though. :) You're right -- it does sound like Carrie would be a no-brainer!

I kinda surprised myself at how I stayed fairly upbeat through it all. This is the only time I camp so it isn't like I am a seasoned pro, and with the rain, I am always concerned about camera gear. But, it all worked out. The fact that there is such a feeling of comraderie and "we're all in it together" helps a lot. I had a pillow, almost bought a cot but had a double height air mattress, and there's loads of coffee around, in camps and on the midway. I don't drink coffee though :-)

Carrie and I have talked about falcon Ridge and it's a mystery to us each, but they won't book her. Tragic, really. I think she would do really well there.

I can't believe it's been so long since I was at Falcon Ridge! I know the kids would have fun with the music, but not sure how they would have fared with the rain. Ok, probably me, too. I get cranky when everything is damp.
Still, I am glad you got to hear great music and visit with friends!

Normally I am not so good with my stuff getting wet, either, but this one of those times where it could ruin my weekend or I could choose to make the best of it. Luckily, I went the latter route. You really oughta bring the girls next year. I bet they could even make rain an adventure! Glad you had a good time in OH, though, especially on the name issue with Mr. Brucken!
