Gjetost is one of my favorites! It's fantastic when it's melted on bread. I have to do a bit of searching around here, usually, to find the stuff without cow's milk in it, though.
I've never tried to melt it yet, that sounds interesting. I can't get it at all hereabouts (Southern Germany), and we used to bring the only variety available with cow's milk from trips to Denmark and Sweden. But I can't eat more than a little every now and then anyway as I can't eat dairy products and cheese, so this souvenir from Norway will last me ages.
The picture of the Gjetost took me back a long time! When I was at university, in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, a friend used to go to the biggest store in the city at the end of each term especially to buy it for her mother in Yorkshire, who loved it.
For some reason I had never realised cloudberries were orange - they look lovely with the porridge and the red berries.
And your grey is so very atmospheric - perhaps a little more atmosphere than you would have liked at the time!
I envy you the ability to buy Geitost (at least in Britain)! *g* I've never seen ripe cloudberries ready to be picked, but the frozen, stewed and preserved were all bright orange.
