I wasn't planning on posting about toilets at all, mostly because its been done so many times by so many people. Even wiki has a pretty thorough article I noticed when I was trying to find out if what I was seeing in women's restrooms were really urinals. But, a lot of our friends back home know nothing at all about Japan so I decided to oblige. I'll have to pay more attention to what women do in public washrooms vis a vis soap use. I've been so fascinated by the way they elegantly fold and unfold their washcloths that I haven't paid attention to the soap use thing. I have noticed little packs of soap sheets in stores that I thought were for you to carry with you and use in public bathrooms where soap wasn't available (like public parks) tho...hmmm. As for the photos, they are oriented correctly on my Mac. I import them directly into Livejournal using the insert image icon, which seems to rotate some but leave others alone. Even if I try to pre-rotate them in the opposite direction before importing to compensate, they still show up ( ... )
