P-Model - "Layer-Green" Lyrics

Apr 17, 2011 12:18

This song...I don't know why, but this song almost makes me want to cry every time I hear it. But I feel this way about most P-Model/Hirasawa songs that fall into the "Weird Sort-of Love Songs...IN SPACE!" category. (Yes, that is a legitimate category for me.)

P-Model - "Layer-Green"

Ooh, I hadn't heard this one before! Thanks for this. I love those moments just when you think you've heard all the best ones, only to discover… THERE'S MORE! *does a little dance*

My, I didn't realize how pretty the lyrics are. The song itself was great already~

I never particularly got a love song-type vibe from this - well at least before I saw the translation - but I definitely get that from some of the others. Visible Sea has a feel kind of like that, for example. In total contrast with at least half the songs on LANDSALE which have the word "love" all in them in sarcastic (but totally cute) way. Heheh, these kinds of contrasts only make things more interesting

Haha, yeah, I love how pretty much all the things that explicitly mention love are about something entirely NOT romantic (in the usual pop music sense). But I think a Hirsawa-style "love song" would be more in terms of agape than mere romantic love. I'm just thinking of the song "Love Song" which is anything but romantic but certainly full of love... *sniffles*

these kinds of contrasts only make things more interesting
Definitely. I haven't had such fun serious conversations on LJ since approximately 2001. ;)

Oh yes, agape would be a way I could describe something like that. I'm sure you're using the word like me as not with any specific religious connotations but still spiritual, a sort of overarching compassion sort of thing. Already his music often has a "warm blanket of sound" quality to it, if you pardon the odd analogy.

Oh wow, 2001? I can't imagine what LiveJournal itself was like then mostly because I didn't have the internet then.

Oh, yes, definitely the not religious flavors of "agape." Should've mentioned that.

"warm blanket of sound"
...or perhaps a phonon belt? ;)

"Weird Sort-of Love Songs...IN SPACE!" is something I need more of in my life.

I was pretty indifferent to the song before but now I'm really diggin' it. Thanks for translating, or else I probably wouldn't have given this song a chance. ♥

"Venus" is another "Weird Sort-of Love Song...IN SPACE!" I need to dig around in my lyrics notes again to find what else was in this category. XD

But yay, glad you like the song more now! My work here is done!

Is it alright if we use the translations found here as a basis for transliterations (or sing-along-english-versions) of songs?

I've been wanting to tackle this sort of thing for a long time.

You'd get credit, of course.

Sure, no problem! Anything to spread the love. I assume you'll have to do a lot of editing to make these things singable, but I wish you the best of luck. Please tell me how it goes!

Let me know if you have any questions about the texts or if there's anything else I can do to help. :)

I'll be sure to do that!

Thank you very much for the permission! And thank you VERY much for your efforts in translating these songs!

You're helping make the awesome even better!

I am interested in these transliterations. I tried with Zebra, once.
