Final Fantasy VII: Remake?

Looks like Best Buy has posted a pre-order page up for a Final Fantasy VII remake for the PS3.

According to an article from IGN they say a remake has NOT been confirmed. They say not confirmed... but then they don't deny it either. Makes you wonder

Among the 3D FFs FFVII is in the most need of a face-lift.. however I don't think it's really necessary.. and I'm getting a bit tired of Square-Enix milking FFVII to death. I feel a genuine desperation coming from them these days.. it's kinda sad.

Yea... Square-Enix usually didn't touch spin-offs but now there's the FFVII: Advent Children movie, FFVII Snowboarding game for cell phone, FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus, and Dragon Quest: VIII - Yagyu as a kid game.

Square-Enix should be making kick ass ORIGINAL games since they're now a united front with two of the popular RPG franchises... Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.
