There is more info on how the magic works in bk 1 - I was wondering that myself after reading this one first.

On to The Drowning City?

Haven't decided if I want to read it immediately or wait until just before book #3 comes out. . . I've already picked it up and it's staring at me from the shelf, but I have The Habitation of the Blessed right by my bed. . .

I meant to note that there might be more info on the magic in book one, but then forgot. I warned I might not be able to talk sensibly about this yet! :D

Oh, hey, since you've read The Drowning City. . . is there any explanation as to why they have guns but the rest of the tech is somewhere Medieval or Renaissance? (or maybe Enlightenment. . . but pre-steam-power, in any case)

You don't have to tell me the explanation. . . just wondering if it's there or if that's just one of those things I'm going to have to come up with my own explanation for. . . ;)

Not that I recall...I think it might be one of those things you'll have to come up with your own explanation for. ;)

I think I'd like to pick this up. I do think I've got a sample of this on my Kindle, at least.

I haven't read quite enough of the books you've reviewed (yet) to be sure, but I think this one might be right up your alley.

Worst case scenario, it'll give me plenty of fodder for discussion!
