Ooo, I love The Police -- how great that you were able to see them in concert!

I've never listened to any Soviet rock (or Russian-language rock in general), but now I'm intrigued and will keep an eye out for Kino.

Gah, we were so lucky that 1. I had a credit card with no balance and 2. I actually listened to the radio that morning when they were announcing the date. It was literally two weeks before when I found out they were going to be here in Orlando. I won't mention how much we had to pay for the tix. ;) Worth every penny, though.

It's funny, because I only got into Soviet rock because of Gorky Park. They were a little known 80's band that released their albums in English. Bang was the only song to get any airtime here in the States, I think. But then when we went to Russia two years ago I found Kino and fell in love with their sound. It's a great rock sound with that unique Russian folk influence to it. It's really great, if you ever get a chance to check them out.
