Absolutely! And most of her books aren't actually that romantic. . . they're more comedies of manners than anything else. I was surprised by that, when I started reading them.
Nope, not a series, not even any recurring characters. Lots of people (including me) seem to agree that The Grand Sophy is a good place to start. . . and it's definitely at the "comedy of manners" end of the spectrum. I also love The Masqueraders (though papersky thinks it has too much plot) and A Civil Contract is where I started -- it's different from all the others, though, in that it's quieter and more serious and depicts what I'd consider a more realistic, more adult relationship.
