oh, and I should add one of my all time most confusing fannish things... there's a rather popular classic fic that I really thought was popular as a joke/bad fic, but it turns ou that many people loved this story. I found it awful, but the most glaring was the misspelling of the canon characters names, especially the one used as the titular character.

LOL! Yeah, I think it's alright if people do some of these things when they're still newbies, but if you're in fandom for years and still make the same mistakes (such as misspelling canon names), I get really peeved. xD

Extreme kink for shock value irritates the shit out of me, too. I'm not impressed.

Ah yes! I'm good with hardcore kinks in general, but if it's done solely for shock value, it's not my thing either.

Well, I ticked lots there! Obviously I am easily irked.

The Oxford comma one annoys me to a completely irrational level, as does purple prose. I'm sure the latter is people trying to sound like really 'great writers' in a lot of cases, and FAIL!!

Also, a big YES to epithets, and to smooshing together of ship names. Although, weirdly, Snarry is the only one that doesn't bug me -- which is particularly odd as the ship itself makes me shudder. But I would like to banish Drarry from the face of the earth -- and Merthur too!!!

And seriously, typos in the header? If you can't even get that right, the chances of me clicking the link are zero

Oh, and edited to add - really redundant warnings, like 'gay sex' in a slash fic

Name smooching doesn't really bother me much. Personally I don't really use them unless I'm on tumblr (tags). But epithets!!! UGH!!!!!

Omg, ikr. If there are typos or errors in the header, the fic is probably littered with SPAG-issues, as well.

Ah yes. "Warning: Fic contains gay sex." Dude, it's an NC-17 slashfic! I'd be more concerned if you DIDN'T include M/M sex!

I don't mind it so much in other fandoms, but DRARRY SUCKS. Snarry, I can live with. As long as I don't have to recognise its existence.
