Artist notes: This is my submission for the Merlin Zodiac Project. Total time taken is about 15 hours. Explanation of artwork beneath the cut. Drawn as a companion to my Arthur tarot card. Thank you, Ann for looking it over. :)

Opal - Black opal found in the heart of the medallion. Black opal was used by magicians to enhance their powers. The medallion also has a triad sign which symbolises magic.
Sapphire - Found on his shirtsleeves. It expresses commitment and loyalty of the heart, which I believe Merlin has for Arthur. ;)
Colour - Light blue, found in his neckerchief and background.
Flower, Planet - Rose is a symbol of beauty and the flower of Venus for the ancient Romans. They also saw it as a symbol of death and rebirth which fits the Old Religion. I drew a rosebud as a nod to the one Merlin gave to Freya.
Libra Constellation - Dots of "lights" conjured by Merlin.
Symbol - I've hidden the Libra symbol somewhere, see if you could spot it. :)
