*yawn* finally a day off. I love my job I really wish it wasn't seasonal. I picked up an extra shift yesterday, Shanna was sick, it was supposed to just be for 2 80 min deep tissues wound up being 3 80min deep tissues and an 80min Hot stone. I'm not fond of hot stone, I always burn the hell out of my hands. Maybe I'll get my own set and practice ( Read more... )

I dunno what you're doing with your hot stones but if they're that hot you shouldn't be puting them on your clients (as I'm sure you know). Is it just when you take them out of the roaster to cool for a bit? I never keep mine above 140 degrees. I usually keep them around 125-30 and I've never really had a hand burning incident.

I don't know how you deal with 8 of those bastards. I've just got Phil and I don't know how to deal with him. Maybe it's better when they can play with each other so they get less bored and obnoxious? I can't imagine it's THAT much better, though. You're nuts! :op

I just do what they tell me... Whenever they're set lower they're just not hot enough for the clients, I dunno. I think I'll just get my own set and dink around a bit.

Eh, after 5 you're just kinda numb to it... They do leave you alone when they have others to harass though.

I find the ones with the low, medium, high type settings suck. I like the ones with actual temperatures on the dial. It's very helpful. those meat thermometers are good to have too. Are you using water with the stones or just heating them? I've heard some crazy stuff people do with them, so I'm curious.

Haha god. I think my head would explode.

They have griddle plates with towels over them and the stones on top. As far as setups go I like it much more than the water, I hated the water!!! The lowest temp is 250 on the dial and you can set it lower but then your just guestimating.
