Anyway, I love Shikamaru so hardcore in this, how he keeps calculating things even while he's sick and how he's using the calculating to keep the emotional side at bay and even then he's still unsettled -- it's gorgeous. *cackles a little bit* oh, Shika, you angst so pretty.

Hee, I'm glad you liked Shikamaru! He's one of my favorites, which is probably not a good thing for the character. XD

*Wibbles* That ending, oh my goodness. This is such a great alternate universe, so riff with angst and awesome, and it just keeps getting better. Shikamaru is great, and I loved Lee so so hard here. When he went charging my heart went with him. It was such a perfect Lee thing to do, and it was contrasted so nicely with Shikamaru's initial fear and guilt.

I honestly didn't think you were going to let the kid die. It was a major kick, but I'm glad you did it. It's a reminder how messed up and gut-wrenching this universe is. XD

I like this mad, zombie-writing, crazy side of you. ♥

I'm very happy that you enjoyed the story. I have really enjoyed writing it, especially this scene. I have a soft spot in my heart for Shikamaru and Lee, and it's great that you liked them here.

It is a zombie apocalypse! Also, kid needed to be in mortal danger and then die so we could get Shikamaru's fear and guilt. He's so much fun to torment. Everybody's in danger of dying. Like Shikamaru and Lee, who are outnumbered, and one of them is hurt. >.>

Glad you do. I've got at least one more scene in me, and we'll see what happens after that and what kind of reception it gets.
