Was just talking about a friend since I finished Blood+. I seem to have a thing for dark heroines. Not sure why. I love them. In no particular order (except claymore) my favorites:

1. Everyone in Claymore. Holy fuck I love this anime/manga to pieces.
2. Robin - Witch Hunter Robin
3. Saya - Blood+
4. Iria - Zeiram: the animation
5. Matoko Kusanagi - Ghost in the Shell

Hell Girl was awesome. Saikano was a tear jerker, but I didn't like the english voice acting one bit. Chrno Crusade is very high on my list of favorites. Shana is also up there. Ghost in the Shell was an excellent movie - but a shitty series.

You need to see Noein.

I never saw Saikano in English. I'm one of those purist sub-only people. You know that. Hah.

I need to finish Shakugan no Shana come to think of it. Seen part way in, but not finish the series. Thanks for reminding me.

I did see some of Noein several years ago. It intrigued me and I wanted to see more, but I think I was watching fansubs at the time, and they were only up to a certain point. Maybe the group didn't keep with it, or it was probably licensed, but once I hit that wall like 5 or 6 episodes in, I just didn't keep with it. Any good sub sources you know of?

I use cash money and buy DVDs on a whim. Noien was a whim purchase, and I was thoroughly pleased with it.

Also, I watch my anime in english if I can just because I don't mind either way, and DVDs are usually default on English.

I don't download anime, really. Death Note a friend got me into, but that was the last anime I downloaded since Junii Kokki was recommended to me.

(And I use torrents for sub series I find randomly)

Look for Chaos Head. Its a relatively new and trippy anime.
