I was attending the bachelor party of a friend in Slidell last night. It was a very laid back version, just a group of us hanging around his place drinking and barbecuing. He has a dog, a dachshund Jack Russell terrier mix who is about 6, and has a coloring very similar to Snoopy. Over the course of the night we had made friends. He was very ( Read more... )

Good lord, I'm glad you're okay! There are creams that should help with the scar as well, don't worry too much, it will probably only be noticeable to you. I got in a car accident as a teen and they said if I didn't get stitches (which I didn't) that I would have scars around my eyes, but even I can't find them now.

Glad you're ok. I've been a dog bite victim twice and it's so scary wondering what's going to happen facially, but it does heal and you'll be ok.

Much respect to you for how you have handled all aspects.

OMG that sounds awful! I really hope your nose is okay. Sounds really painful; it's bad enough when you bump your nose, I can't imagine how you are suffering!

Will you be left with much scarring etc?

I'm glad you have the right attitude about this. I know loads of people who in your situation would have been called for the dog to be destroyed because it was dangerouse without thinking that dog's don't think like us and by putting our faces towards them - sometimes they're going to misinterpret it for us going to bite them. To be fair this is a mistake I could see myself making; I'm so used to my dog i don't necessarily think other peoples dogs wouldn't like it. I won't be doing that again though after reading this.

Get better soon, babe! xxx

It actually didn't hurt at all at first... it was mostly when they put the ice on it that I really started to feel pain.

I think it's just going to be a single line scar where they sowed me up, but I won't know until I can get the bandage off next week. I'll have to put on sunblock any time I go outside for awhile, and then treat it with creams, etc to try to minimize it's affect. I'm trying not to worry about it too much.

I found out a little after writing this that my friend wants to put the dog down. :( Basically they have small children that visit regularly and they are scared that the dog will attack them. We're trying to convince them to at least try to find a childless home for him first, one where the people are aware of what happened and are willing to treat him with care.
