Just a very quick post ... Simply because I don't feel like I've been active enough lately O.o Don't know what it is. I want to write -- but then, I really want to play Pokemon still too ... But I equally just want to sleep/lie in bed watching movies.

Well, truth be told, I just wanted to post this to say:

One of these goddamn days I am going to have ( Read more... )

I listen to Rammstein (in full volume when no one's around) when I do the dishes. They're like the german version of Slipknow xD

About the christian rock thing.. I remember this one song. Where I Want To Be by Lifehouse (still a fave).. and at first I only interpreted it as a boy wanting his girl back blah blah all that mushy crap. Until somebody told me that it's actually a song meant for God. I was like "cool" cause christian rock songs imo is a song you can interpret any way you want. And there's nothing wrong with that.

And your birthday's coming? :wha

Ah, yes, I know of Rammstein. I dunno, there's just something about Heavy Metal and doing dishes that work together so well! =D

Oh, yes, Lifehouse -- I didn't realise it was Christian rock! haha! I know Switchfoot are though, and I know a friend that stopped listening to them because she couldn't take the overly-religious lyrics ... Or something >.>

This exactly! Which is precisely why seeing this comment fired me up. I just thought it was a really narrow-way of looking at something as universal as music.

Uhm ... Yes, kinda. It's next month >///< *does not want* -- But planning the party is kinda fun. Because it's my 21st I've gotta have a big one this year Hooray for society's dictations ... I'm just excited cause I'm having a Halloween dress up.
And guess what I want to dress up as ... *gestures at tags*

It helps with the boredom.. but sometimes my dad thinks I'm gonna end up one day breaking all the dishes because of heavy metal *rolls eyes*

Over religious? Don't you think she's stretrching it a bit? There's also Underoath and Relient K. bb, you can give them choices and expose them to new things but their openness or lack thereof is really their own choice :<

Ooh Ulqui?! :wha

I definately think she's stretching it a bit. Not listening to something cause it's religious is just stupid -- but if the song truly bothers you, it's easy enough to skip that song. It's not a justifiable reason to stop listening to the band *shakes head*
What's that saying? You can lead them to the water, but you can't force them to drink.

I hope so!! I can get the clothes ... It's the helmet that I'm concerned about ... I just want to walk around with the coat-flaps of awesome :wha

People who cannot appreciate good music just because it's Christian music are tools. Music isn't just about listening to what you already know, what's "safe", it's about discovering good new music that you can learn something new from and relate to on some sort of level. But these narrow minded people are like, on the same level as those Christians who are afraid of any music that isn't really, really Christian orientated and they call it "the devil's music". >_>

I'm a Christian and I listen to everything from heavy metal to those "Jesus songs" and I like spiritual music too.

As for the title...I've no idea about the lyrics but I like it.

Exactly Kitty! Close-mindedness annoys me so much!! Especially when they slot music into one category because of it! >C

The lyrics are from A slipknot song. Can't remember the name now, but I've always loved that line.

Then again, I've also really liked the line: "Quit your bitching and fight your way through it" because sometimes it's so appropriate <3 I really love Heavy Metal because it has deeper meaning than people think. Someone who hears it by chance just hears the screaming and runs away, but then when you listen to it properly you find out that yes they're screaming ... but the lyrics are much deeper than this poppy-overplayed stuff you hear on the radio (Not that there aren't deep songs on there ... I'm just thinking of a few particular ones that annoy me for the shallow lyrics. ... Usher's 'Oh My God', for instance?)
