I've been ill. Some weird stomach thing that started in February and has been getting steadily worse since April. Blood tests have revealed nothing. I can identify no patterns. Anti-nausea medication is a fabulous invention. I was prescribed some this morning after being sick since last Friday--possibly a response to the crab sushi I pigged out on that night. Every month we go to the bridge near CSUS to watch the full moon. The last time, which was a few days ago, all the lights on the bridge were out. The darkness made for good stargazing; we picked out several satellites as we loitered there, waiting for the moon to rise ( Read more... )

I recently interviewed for a job that I REALLY wanted. It was to work as the receptionist/admin assistant at a preschool in Davis. The school itself sounds utopian -- they do some Spanish immersion there, and the curriculum is really comprehensive and holistic and play-based. I went to a New Volunteer Orientation at the Sacramento SPCA this morning. I'm really excited about doing this and can't wait to get started with the canine workshops -- after I finish training I'll be playing with and grooming dogs. There was a four-car pile-up on the freeway today. I was the fourth car. It was all so fast. As the title suggests, a lot has happened during my long silence. I'll try to keep the exposition short so this doesn't get TL;DR. The main idea I wish to convey is that I'm making some changes in my life for the better, and I feel optimistic about the way things are going.
