I am occasionally confronted by the question of ghosts and whether or not I believe in them. I'm always torn. Logically I would have to say no. But no is also not entirely true. The closest I can really come is no, but I wish something would happen so that I couldIt's more comforting, and in a way more intellectually stimulating, to believe in

I have a similar thing with fairies. I just can't quite bring myself to believe they don't exist. Also years ago I saw something that I'm still conflicted about because my rational mind says it couldn't have been a merman, but what I actually saw was a gray skinned guy from the waist up on a rock outside a harbor during a storm, then he jumped and up popped a pretty massive gray fish tail, so... Yeah.
