Here's some pictures from 8/25. These were all taken at Rothrock State Forest outside of State College, PA. Some are from a hemlock forest, and most are from a wet meadow habitat.

What a great photo. Good thing you got that tree frog out before certain unpleasantries happened. I think I recall you mentioning that experience in an LJ post.
I love the praying mantis picture. Also, the caterpillars scared me. But I'm a wuss when it comes to bugs. Did you manage to smell the elderberries? I've always wondered what they smell like, given the Monty Python joke.
You know, I completely forgot to do that. What the heck kind of Monty Python fan am I? Some people did eat them though, so I can only assume they are not TOO objectionable.
It was meant to be a shortened title for the course I'm taking, but I guess it does stick out now that I've posted so many insect pics! I DO take a lot of pictures of the plants, but its mostly for reference purposes and they are far from spectacular. Insects make for more interesting subjects than plants that are not in bloom.
You are preaching to the choir in my case! ;) I love your insect work (and that heroic ant defending its aphids is on my desktop at work, I get such a kick out of seeing it! :)
Cool, glad you like it. I particularly like how tightly packed the aphids are, in nice neat little rows. The parallels between ant agriculture and human agriculture are eerily numerous!
